CATEGORY DEVELOPMENT ANALYST – DIRECT CONNECT
 
 
Retail Marketing Solutions/Safeway Private Label Direct Connect Department has an opening for a Category Development Analyst.
 

Qualifications:  The following are preferred or desired unless specifically stated;

 
•             4 year college degree, preferably in Business, Economics, or Marketing
•             3+ years’ experience as a marketing or business analyst.
•             Experience with syndicated market data ( Nielsen )
•             Strong PC skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Database Management)
•             Experience with mass data analytical tools (Teradata, Microstrategies, Queryman) an asset.
•             Experience with shopper marketing data analysis an asset. 
•             High degree of initiative and sense of urgency.
•             Strong oral and written communication skills.
•             Good organization and prioritization and interpersonal skills a desire to be a team player.
               

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to;
               
•             Identify opportunities to grow category volume and profits through Private Label initiatives
•             Identify areas of potential innovation and new product development
•             Lead business results tracking and reporting for the Private Label department. 
•             Analysis of category trends and performance to assist in the development of business and marketing programs.
•             Analysis of potential new items for volume and profitability.   
•             Analyze, interpret, and provide insights and recommendations regarding various initiatives.
•             Generate ad hoc reports as requested
•             Participate and assist in the development/creation of current and future state business process, organizational, and high-level technology
•             Contribute to the creation of training plans and use of vendor SRS based web technology.
•             Coordinate workshop and meeting logistics and preparation, identify opportunities to grow category volume and profits through Private Label initiatives
•             Lead business results tracking and reporting for the Private Label department. 

 

Salary: Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
